Arbor Lodge Daylily Releases: 2009 2010 2011 2012

Bloom season begins:  (E) Early -> mid-May  (EM) Early/middle -> mid-June  (M) Middle -> July  (L) Late -> August

Acquire the Fire ACQUIRE THE FIRE   (Olson, E.) height 28", bloom 5.5", season EM, Dormant, Tetraploid

This is a stately plant with rich scarlet red velvet blooms that command attention. In my garden, the bloom stems exceed the 28" registration, typically growing to about 36-40" tall. A very showy daylily that increases slowly; the clump may remain undisturbed for many years without division.

Apricot Angel APRICOT ANGEL   (Holman) height 18", bloom 3.25", season EM, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid

A profusion of dainty apricot flowers cover this plant during bloom season. The color is very versatile, combining well with both warm and cool plantings. Such a delightful daylily!

Asterisk ASTERISK   (Lambert) height 28", bloom 8", season M, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid

The spatulate shape is one of my favorite forms and the plant is aptly named. The lavender grey bloom with wide green throat looks just like an asterisk! This plant has a smaller foliage habit that rarely needs dividing - an excellent trait for a city garden. The bloom stems are typically taller than the registered 28" in my garden; they reach about 36" in a year or so after the plant is well established.
