Arbor Lodge 'Easy Living'
ARBOR LODGE    'Easy Living'
(Enriquez) height 38", bloom 6", season M, Dormant, Tetraploid

Easy Living blooms midsummer, just when summer living is easiest. The elegant polychrome blooms are lightly ruffled and touched with a glistening gold edge. This tall beauty is ideal for the back of the border, lending stature and elegance to the garden composition.

Arbor Lodge 'Peach Tamborine'
ARBOR LODGE    'Peach Tamborine'
(Enriquez) height 30", bloom 6", season EM, Dormant, Tetraploid

Peach Tamborine is a venture away from my usual pursuit of narrow forms. The lucious, peach colored blooms open flat and wide with a bubbled gold edge.

Madrona Hill 'Amethyst Tiara'
MADRONA HILL    'AMETHYST TIARA'
(Enriquez) height 35", bloom 6", season M, SemiEvergreen, Diploid

Amethyst Tiara presents large, elegantly ruffled blooms; the clear petal color is accented by a lighter edge. An amethyst tiara frames a delicate lavender watermark in the eyezone. I just love this color combination; it is such cool refreshment for the summer garden.

Madrona Hill 'Cosmic Corona'
MADRONA HILL    'COSMIC CORONA'
(Enriquez) height 38", bloom 6", season EM, Dormant, Diploid

Cosmic Corona has very unusual blooms. Wide light lemony petals flare back to reveal a huge light green throat. The expansive throat is surrounded by a feathered light mauve ring. I have been delighted and amazed with the show of unique blooms.
$25
Madrona Hill 'Independence Day'
MADRONA HILL    'INDEPENDENCE DAY'
(Enriquez) height 44", bloom 6", season M, Dormant, Diploid

Independence Day was first spotted in the seedling bed on a Fourth of July and wow! what a fun daylily. The graceful crispate form is decorated with red petals, a rippled white edge and gold starburst throat. The warmer the temperature, the more pronounced the edge. Limited.

Seedling evaluation takes several years to fully accomplish. A plant will typically take two to three years to produce a bloom when grown from seed here in Portland. In my garden, the blooms are observed for another two to three years before being selected to move from the seedling bed to the 'grown-ups table' in the main garden. There, the plants have ample space for me to take note of the foliage habit to make sure the plant is worthy of a garden name.

At the moment, it is not my intention to register my plants with the 'Mother Ship', the American Hemerocallis Society (AHS). The purpose of registering daylilies with the AHS is to ensure a unique name is attributed to a plant. I accomplish that unique relationship by naming plants with either an 'Arbor Lodge' (tetraploid) or 'Madrona Hill' (diploid) prefix.
